Ahmed Hashim Bahrozyan, CEO of Licensing Agency at RTA, said: "The Agency has received 1492 online transactions, comprising two types: vehicle registration renewal, and driving licenses renewal. Vehicle registration transactions accounted for the larger share as the Agency has received 1308 online transactions of this type over five months; namely June (220 e-transactions), July (260 e-transactions), August (235 e-transactions), September (256 e-transactions), and October (337 e-transactions). As for driving licenses renewal, the Agency has received 184 online transactions during the same period."
Bahrozyan added, "Activation of e-services for renewal of vehicle registration, as well as renewal of driving licenses stems from the vision and wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to promote the online services, harness them to serve customers and the public who constitute the driving force in all work fields, and raise the Emirate of Dubai to the ranks of leading countries who have excellent record in the field of electronic technology."
He said, "Through these online services, the Licensing Agency is seeking to keep pace with the rapid technology boom, and online transactions growth. Therefore we strive to provide multiple and diverse services to all segments of customers, and undertake RTA strategy to enhance the e-services, in line with the vision of the e-Government of Dubai to promote all e-services."
"By launching these two services online, the Agency is seeking to save the time and effort for clients, and enable them to process the renewal of vehicle registration, and driving licenses from any location, without bothering to attend to any business site; which might involve lengthy waiting and wasting time in order to have such transactions processed," said Bahrozyan in a final remark.
