Aiming a transparent governance, Barnala district administration on Friday launched its first mobile app named 'eBarnala'. The Mobile App is targeted towards implementation of Government to Citizen (G2C) model of e-Governance. Everyone who is having a simple mobile phone can download this app from the Google Play Store and App Store for iOS.
The app provides contact details of employees of various departments like police, health, education, revenue and welfare to facilitate every citizen to contact the concerned directly. Every citizen will now be able to have the official contact details of his Tehsildar, Kanungo, SDM by simply selecting the revenue department and by selecting his village. Similarly, they will be able to get the details of concerned JE of PWD and Irrigation department, SHO, DSP etc. This App will also provide Google directions of the concerned office.
Another feature of this application is stamp duty calculator that will help every citizen to calculate the stamp duty to be paid while making any revenue transactions like sale/purchase, mortgage, will, transfer of property etc. This is the first calculator developed in the state that has incorporated all the collector rates of the district and any citizen can easily calculate the exact amount of government charges to be paid by simply selecting the area code, said Barnala deputy commissioner Ghanshyam Thori while launching the App.
Assistant commissioner Mankanwal Singh Chahal made data collection for app with support from Trident Group.
