By using mobile phone, one can track the status of Sakaala applications of 151 services. Citizens can also subscribe to traffic alerts and various helplines.
Chief minister Jagadish Shettar on Thursday inaugurated the services at his official residence Krishna. To access the service, you need to dial interactive voice response number (8088887766). Instructions will be given in both English and Kannada. Those who like interactive interface can dial *505*807# (available for BSNL, Tata Docomo and Idea users) and get menu of services and choose the service they want.
For details on the service, log on to mobile.karnataka.gov.in. The department is hopeful of providing unified mobile services delivery by April this year. The chief minister said that services of the government will be made available on mobile phone in a phased manner.
Principal secretary of the e-governance department, INS Prasad, said, “Service will pilot period for two to three months. Once the system gets stabilised, we are going to add other services. As of now, 10-odd services have been made available on mobile e-governance and people can know the status of their application in cases of 151 services.”
The state government has not covered those Sakaala services under the scheme where one needs to provide documents.
