Transforming Government since 2001

Smart cities or intelligent cities have been talked about for years, something that is becoming closer to our daily lives.

The concept of smart cities was coined at the beginning of this century, primarily as an evolution of what was already known as digital cities, where information and communication technologies are implemented in a friendly manner to users. So that technology can be used efficiently and that it can contribute in improving the quality of life of the largest number of people.

Building a smart city is achieved by working in a comprehensive manner, i.e. applying new technologies to manage the proper functioning of various city structures: public and private transport, civil defence, efficient use of energy and water resources, and A long etc. ,

Today people use technology every day. Millennials and Generation Z, digital natives have no problem handling it. But not only them, but in recent years we have also seen how its use has increased among adults over the age of 60.

For example, according to a “Digital Transformation with People in the Center” study by the Observatory of Digital Human Capital, OHD, of this age group, 64% of people use technology to buy, while 80% to complete procedures. 68% do this to read or learn, 80% to stay informed, while most, 88%, use it to stay in touch.

Obviously, this change in society has brought about an improvement in the quality of life of people at personal, family, professional and other levels. Technology has become so important that it is the third sector that contributes the most to Chile’s well-being with 58%, behind only universities (59%) and food (58%). This indicates that technology is more important to people than drinking water, telecommunications, health or agriculture.

We cannot understand smart cities without the use of technology, and this should contribute to realizing these cities of the future. This has been achieved with a place to work and promote dialogue for social actors and brands with particular sensitivity in relation to a new future.

For this, it is essential to be able to find spaces for building of value with social and environmental impact, thus promoting the sustainability of our cities and our spaces. Harmonized the lives of all those associated with the cities of the future, which today are rapidly becoming a reality of the present.
