  • One-window operation introduced to get permits related to construction sector
  • E-Khidmat centers to approve construction-related NOCs and maps

As per vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan and on the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, the Punjab government has announced a package for the economic stability and development of construction industry.

The chief minister said that one-window system has been introduced for getting the permits related to construction sectors. E-Khidmat centers will now approve construction-related NOCs and maps. Necessary NOCs can be easily obtained from e-Khidmat Centers without bribing to anyone, moreover, people will not have to visit public office again and again by carrying files. The government has fixed a time frame for the issuance of NOCs for the services related to the construction industry.

The government will be bound to issue NOCs and permits to the applicants within the stipulated time frame. Map for constructing residential or commercial building will be approved within 30 whereas, NOC of Commercialization Conversion will be provided to the applicant in just 45 days. New housing schemes will be approved by development authorities in 60 days and 75 days by relevant TMS. People had to visit public offices for many months for these services. These revolutionary reforms in the construction industry will completely curb the corruption and delaying tactics of mafia.

Usman Buzdar said that people of the Punjab are being facilitated in a batter way through e-governance besides creating ease the citizens at all the levels. One Window Operation has been formally launched in the e-service centers set up at the divisional headquarters. A total of 78 services, including 32 services related to the construction sector, can be availed from these centers. He said that economic activities in the province will be accelerated through the measures taken by the Punjab government as well as develop the construction sector.

He said that in the second phase, the scope of these services will be extended to the district level from the first week of August and people in 36 districts of Punjab will be able to avail these services. He said that an outdated system has been made easier for the convenience of the people through technology and this initiative would not only save valuable time but also eliminate bribery. The speedy provision of services under one roof to provide relief to the people is an important step towards a new Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Usman Buzdar along with Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjarani met Baluchistan Chief Minister Sardar Jam Kamal Khan at Baluchistan House Islamabad on Saturday. Matters of mutual interest and political situation came under discussion during the meeting. Maintaining close liaison between al four provinces were also discussed in the meeting. The meeting agreed to constant contacts for the promotion of inter-provincial harmony and national integrity and mutual visits of all the four Chief Ministers to the provinces.

The three leaders said that the ties between the people and governments of Punjab and Baluchistan have become stronger than before. They said that goals of progress and prosperity can be achieved by promoting unity and cooperation among the provinces. Usman Buzdar said that Punjab believes in taking other provinces along with it on national issues. “We are one and will remain one. Punjab government has contributed to the development of Baluchistan.”

He said that Punjab government will continue to extend all possible cooperation for providing relief and convenience of the people of Baluchistan. Punjab and Baluchistan are together in the journey of development. He said that the opposition is trying to interfere in the journey of serving the people by creating chaos. The nefarious intentions of the opposition will not succeed. Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar thanked Baluchistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan for his hospitality during his recent visit to Baluchistan. Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjarani and Chief Minister Baluchistan Sardar Jam Kamal Khan thanked Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar for taking interest in the development of Baluchistan and for providing financial assistance. Sardar Jam Kamal Khan said that Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has won our hearts by extending cooperation for setting up of a hospital in Turbat and a community center in Taftan. Usman Buzdar’s initiative will be a milestone in promoting inter-provincial harmony. Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjarani said that he appreciated the services of Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar for the development of Baluchistan.
