The National Information Technology Development Agency on Friday said 790 issues relating to data protection had been resolved by NITDA in partnership with Data Protection Compliance Organisations.

NITDA’s Director-General, Kashifu Inuwa, disclosed this in a statement titled ‘Data protection: NITDA resolves 790 issues’ issued in Abuja by the agency’s spokesperson, Hadiza Umar.

This came as the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, inaugurated the Digital Transformation Technical Working Group for phase one of federal public institutions.

Pantami, who inaugurated the DT-TWG virtually, said members of the group would further support the Federal Government’s drive to digitalise the Nigerian economy.

He said the aim of the workshop was to further ensure a developed data privacy across the country.

The NITDA boss, who was represented by the Director, e-Government Development and Regulations, Vincent Olatunji, commended the resilience and innovation of DPCOs in entrenching data protection in Nigeria.
