Ecobank has entered into a strategic partnership with the Kwara State Government and South Gate Technologies on land administration. This move, aimed at blocking revenue leakages, entails the computerisation of the end-to-end processes of all land related matters in the state as opposed to the manually driven system.

Ecobank and its technical partner, South Gate Technologies, will develop and deploy e-governance solutions for better revenue efficiency. The project is to be executed under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model of Design-Finance-Deploy- Train and Manage (DFD-TM) with a tenor of five years.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kwara State Government and South Gate Technologies was signed in Illorin to signify the commencement of the Scheme last week.Group Chief Executive, Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI), Ade Ayeyemi, represented by the Group Head, Cash Management and Client Access, ETI, Isaac Kamuta, said the choice of Ecobank as partner in the digitisation project attests to its pedigree in revenue collection and digital banking technology.

Also speaking, the Kwara State Governor, Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmed, said the digitisation of land administration was an e-governance initiative meant to introduce efficiency into land administration, create optimal utilisation of wealth and effective deployment of goods and services in the state.

The Governor said the reform is giant step towards efficiency in deployment of goods and services to create maximum impact on majority of people through the deployment of technology.

The Managing Director of South Gate Technologies, Folajomi Sarumi, assured that every effort would be deployed to make the project a success. This project will create an ease of accessing right of occupancy. With the land documents, people could access funds in banks for business and thereby grow wealth. In fact, Kwara state will never be the same again,” he said.
