The Information Technology Authority (ITA) received the second batch of the continuous visits of the director generals and IT managers from the government entities in its headquarters at Knowledge Oasis Muscat. The visit aims to show the new ITA efforts and initiatives in implementing the e.oman strategy.

The visit started with Sas Centres' specialised in ICT industry development; it contains three centres: Sas Centre for Entrepreneurship, Sas Centre for Virtual Reality and Sas Centre for Mobile Apps Development.

They also visited cyber security projects including, the Oman CERT, and the Digital Forensics Laboratory to get to know about the awareness campaigns and technical fforts undertaken by the ITA to provide a safe environment for ICT users. The visitors were also introduced to the services provided by the Information Security Division in response to the cyber attacks targetted to the websites of government entities.

During the visit, the invitees were also briefed about the eTransformation plan, the Digital Certification Centre and the G-Cloud projects.

The visit concluded with an open meeting with Dr Salim bin Sultan al Ruzaiqi, CEO of ITA, in addition to a number of officials from ITA to talk about eGovernment services and the challenges faced by the IT industry in the sultanate.
