Parliamentary secretary for agriculture Y.M Yolow on Wednesday launched the programme for development of Mobile Apps under National e-Governance Plan in Agriculture (NeGPA) at APC conference hall as chief guest.

A press note by joint director Agriculture, Letkholal Hangshing stated that chief guest during his speech said the recent advancement of technology had brought the world closer, but added that it had both merits and demerits. He therefore called upon the agriculture and allied department to take advantage of the mobile apps that could be developed.

Keynote address was delivered by commissioner and secretary ITS, Er K. D Vizo, wherein he said that Nagaland was basically agriculture based economy and agriculture based society and the government of India through NeGPA was exploring all possibilities to promote agriculture product by using latest state of art technology. Er. KD Vizo mentioned that based on the MOU signed between department of Agriculture and Information Technology & Communication on May 16, 2017 they would be developing 5 Mobile Apps and the work has already been started.

The programme was attended by officers from Agriculture and Allied departments and from department of IT&C. The function was chaired by APC and commissioner & secretary, T Imkonglemba Ao and vote of thanks was proposed by director of Agriculture, Helie Rupre-o.
