COVID-19 continues to shut down the largest cities in the world, and while the healthcare industry, first responders, governments, banks, businesses, and entire populations continue to grapple with flattening the curve, technology companies are innovating new solutions.

There are vast amounts of data generated within cities today, and even more will be generated in the future as the IoT world continues to evolve and grow. Quantela, a digital technology solutions company, has identified effective use of data, informing the public, and empowering the field teams as a one of the key tools to combat the spread of the virus.

Quantela has developed a revolutionary platform called CoVER (COVID-19 Emergency Response), an Integrated Command and Control Centre for Crisis Management. Deployment of this solution will enable US Cities, States and Federal Government as well as countries around the world to boost their ability to monitor, predict and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Quantela’sCoVER platform allows authorities to aggregate data from multiple sources obtained through data bases, excel sheets, sensors… visualize it in a manner that helps them understand the overall situation and take appropriate decisions. They would be able to predict future scenarios based on current spreading patterns, understand the impact on critical medical assets, speed up allocation of patients to hospitals with available capacity, track quarantined patients, distribute assets where needed the most… These are very critical decisions that cannot be made without proper understanding of the vast amount of data that needs to be integrated.”

The platform enables authorities to input all their data from across their field of operations including medical resource tracking, testing kits and test results, outbreak locations, quarantine locations and duration and critical asset locations. Any data source that influences their time-critical operational decision-making can be fed into a cloud-based system that gives them increased insight and control over these fast-moving situations.

CoVER leverages artificial intelligence (AI) to power its predictive analytics engine to crunch the data to identify and highlight important patterns and trends while also predicting the spread to help identify the next breakout areas so that appropriate prevention strategies can be taken.

Quantela’s platform can be tailored to the needs of each locality and within as few as three days a city can start managing its COVID-19 outbreak much more effectively, maximizing resources and hopefully saving lives.

The system also includes a field officer App for multiple front-line personas: Nurses, Doctors, Police Officers… to streamline the collection of consistent high quality data. Empowered by such data, users can ascertain how to best deploy resources to manage and contain outbursts and manage infection clusters, including real time information messages being sent to frontline workers.

A Citizen App allows individuals to both contribute and access critical information, empowering them to collaborate with government in order to actively flatten the curve. The Citizen App enables users to perform health self-assessments, self-report, and self-monitor if home quarantined. Moreover, citizens can receive information about the current situation in their local area, including official government updates and notifications, “red zone” alerts, receive health advice, find out the location of their nearest testing and treatment facilities, and much more.

“CoVER will enable the government and the administrators to react assertively and promptly with the set of digital tools specifically designed to help curb the spread of coronavirus," said Sridhar Gadhi, Founder and Executive Chairman, Quantela.
