A centralised portal will now enable businesses here to access e-government services more conveniently and securely.

The Singapore Corporate Access - or CorpPass for short - is a corporate digital platform managed by the Government Technology Agency (GovTech) that allows businesses to conduct government-to-business (G2B) transactions.

It aims to consolidate all e-government services provided by the various agencies into a single platform and to replace SingPass as the platform for G2B transactions.

"CorpPass aims to separate the corporate identity from the personal one.

"The centralisation of the e-services will allow for increased control and visibility as well as added security and convenience," said GovTech's director of project management Kwok Quek Sin.

CorpPass' pilot project was rolled out in May last year with only one e-service.

It has since added more than 40 other e-services to its functional portal, with about 150 services expected by the end of June.

Prior to CorpPass, business users had to rely on their individual SingPass accounts to access services.

This caused inconvenience when the SingPass of former employees was used for the business' access to certain government services.

Under CorpPass, employees' accounts can be centrally managed and can be disabled by business owners instantly if compromised.

This also allows business owners to see the government-related transactions done by its staff.

"CorpPass not only provides a centralised platform for business owners to access e-services but also to enable or disable access to such services for their employees easily," added Mr Kwok.

GovTech expects access to e-government services for G2B transactions to be moved exclusively to the CorpPass portal by year end.

"Until the end of this year, businesses will still be able to use SingPass for e-services existing on both platforms so it won't be an immediate conversion. We hope that by then most e-services and businesses would have already come on board," said Mr Kwok.

Business owners can register on the CorpPass website using their business' unique entity number.

GovTech is also looking into making CorpPass accessible for foreign entities next year.
