Iran is developing its mGovernment services, which will be soon launched as part of Iran’s National Portal for smart Government Services, Mehr News reported. Mahdi Bina, project manager of Iran's Smart Government, said that the "Dolate-e Hamrah" or mGovernment will soon be launched in order to provide government services through a seamless and integrated system available on all mobile channels.

These mobile services are currently under development and are going through the final tests before the official launch. Mahdi Bina said mGovernment services could be accessed through channels such as USSD codes, SMS, VMS, mobile applications and social media networks.

The Iranian government is currently giving grants to local messaging apps and has set incentives for them by placing its advertisements on these apps and issuing a license to set up banking and eGovernment services. Government employees are also encouraged to use messaging apps such as Soroush for their communications.
