The new website of the Ministry of Transport (MoT) was officially launched on Wednesday by HE the Minister of Transport Jassim Seif Ahmed al-Sulaiti.

“The launch of the website confirms the ministry's commitment to implement the criteria and concept of the e-government system, keeping pace with the technological development by effectively using the Internet, networks, programmes, and systems, in offering services for the public," the minister said.

The website is a comprehensive portal for all the services of the MoT to enhance communication with the community, and to serve the society, informing them of its activities, he said.

"The ministry is going to launch a new gateway as part of its website relating to the e-services soon, so the public will make use of the various services offered,” he added.

The site features all of the terms of reference, functions and services of MoT within detailed drop-down lists found on the menu bar.

The home page of the website features an interactive map of Qatar showing information about the transport networks (land, sea and air). It allows the public to access news about recent events and activities of MoT as well as information about forthcoming events.

Forms for various licensing activities of the MoT are available for download from the website, along with the details of the activities, services and procedures of the ministry.

The website also features a careers page as MoT seeks to attract professionals of high skills and expertise in order to achieve the ministry's visions and in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.

The website features links to various social media platforms to allow the public a comprehensive range of ways of interacting with the ministry and providing views and suggestions.

MoT gives importance to the social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram), to maintain active interaction with the public on the current issues and observations.

The website, available in Arabic and English, has hyperlinks to the transport sector organisation websites which include Ras Laffan port, Hamad International Airport, Qatar Rail, Hamad Port, Civil Aviation Authority, Mowasalat, Qatar Ports Management Company and Qatar Airways.

The website can also be accessed through smartphones (Android and iOS).
