Qatar's e-government, in collaboration with the Ministry of Civil Service Affairs and Housing (MCSAH), yesterday launched an online employment service exclusively for Qatari nationals seeking jobs in the private and semi-government sector. The launch ceremony, held at the ministry offices, was attended by H E Sheikh Falah bin Jassim Al Thani, the minister of Civil Service Affairs and Housing, H E Hussein Yousuf Al Mulla, undersecretary at the ministry, Dr Ahmed Al Mohannadi, director of the Qatar e-government project, Lt Colonel Saleh Khamis Al Kubaisi, Information Technology (IT) manager at the Ministry of Interior, and Hashim Abdulla Al Sada, IT manager, Qatar Central Bank, who are also members of the e-government steering committee and other senior government officials.
The e-employment service is available in Arabic only and will offer prospective employees and employers the opportunity to submit, update and de-activate job openings by following a series of user friendly instructions. It offers a large platform for Qatari nationals and employers to meet for mutual benefit.
"The service will allow Qatari job seekers to submit their resumes, browse and apply for job openings and give job providers, easy and quick access to information on candidates. In addition, the service will allow participating employers to present job details, apply a mechanism to match job seekers' skills to job opportunities, search through available resumes and invite candidates for interviews," a press release issued on the occasion, said.
