"This project is part of the e-government initiative started in 2000 under the auspices of HH Sheikh Jassem bin Hamad Al Thani. The finance ministry plans to use the latest in Internet technology to provide the best quality of services to people," an AIT spokesman said. The project will help the ministry to offer e-services and link its systems and processes to the e-government network. Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Ahmed Al Thani, head of finance and administration, signed the contract on behalf of his ministry while Hussain Abunada represented AIT.
Sheikh Abdulaziz, speaking on the occasion, said: "We hope this venture will contribute towards further expediting the e-government project since it became a necessity considering the huge benefits it could give to improve productivity and efficiency which will lead to a high quality of service."
Abunada commented: "We are excited to cooperate with the Ministry of Finance. It is part of our commitment to the local community to help build Qatar's e-government vision using the latest advancements in technologies."
