Kuwait is one of the pioneering countries around the world in the e-Government system, and has so far realized steady development in the field of communications, a Kuwaiti expert affirmed Thursday.
Currently, all Kuwaiti ministries operate through the e-Gate system, via which education, health, commerce, and personal data services are provided electronically to citizens, Mona Yousef Sahar, an expert at the Ministry of Communications, stated to KUNA.
Sahar made her remarks on the sidelines of her participation as a member and expert, elected by her ministry, in the e-Governance team, affiliated with Arab League and UN Economic and Social Commission for West Asia (ESCWA).
Kuwait has a long path since the ministerial decision by the Cabinet to launch the IT work plan in 2000, she noted, adding that her country has, so far, hosted three international conferences regarding the electronic field, and gained tremendous expertise as a result.
