Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that investment-friendly policies of the PML-N government are attracting foreign companies’ investment of billions of rupees in the province.

He said modern cleanliness system had been introduced in Lahore with the collaboration of Turk companies and scope of this system was being expanded to other big cities of the province. He said a splendid project of metro bus had been completed in the provincial metropolis in a record period with the collaboration of Turk companies. Work is continuing round the clock on Rawalpindi-Islamabad metro bus project, he said, adding that metro bus projects at Multan and Faisalabad had been planned.

He expressed these views during a meeting with a delegation of Turk investor Kiler Holding Group here Monday. He invited Turk investors to make investment in Punjab and they would be provided all-out facilities.

Members of the delegation of Turk investors said they were interested to invest in different sectors of Punjab and their group had expertise in e-governance. They said they would cooperate with the Punjab government in the promotion of e-governance.

The chief minister said there were deep cultural, historical and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Turkey, and the peoples of both the countries were close to each other. He said a modern hospital constructed by Turkey in South Punjab was a unique gift by Turkey for the people of the area. Shahbaz Sharif said Tayyip Erdogan Hospital would soon become operational and latest medical facilities would be available to the people. He said construction work on state-of-the-art school had been completed in District Muzaffargarh with the cooperation of Turkey; a number of Turk companies were working jointly with the Punjab government and metro bus project was an excellent example of Pak-Turk friendship. He said although Turk companies were making investment in Punjab; however, if Kiler Holding Group of investors was willing to invest in Punjab, it would be provided every possible facility. He said the Punjab government was working on low cost housing schemes and Turk investors could cooperate in this project.

Indian experts: A delegation of Indian experts associated with energy sector called on Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

Talking to the delegation, the chief minister said the aim of development could not be achieved without energy and the government was working on various projects of electricity generation because it was the need of the hour. He said there was a vast scope of generation of electricity from biomass and biogas and there was 10 million ton agriculture waste for production of electricity from biomass. He said the government was working on these power generation projects and expertise of foreign companies would also be utilised for this purpose. Indian delegation said cooperation would be extended to the Punjab government in these projects.
