The Ministry of Environment and Water has revealed that it has successfully completed linking with the UAE Electronic Federal Network (FEDnet), the country's first electronic network that connects 42 federal entities with each other--offering IT services at a reduced cost combined with high levels of security and efficiency. FEDnet falls in line with the mGovernment initiative, which seeks to create the necessary national infrastructure to enable the provision of all government services via mobile platforms.

According to His Excellency Ghanem Al Shamsi, Acting Undersecretary for Support Services, Ministry of Environment and Water, the connection with FEDnet represents a key step in the Ministry's efforts to support the government's smart strategy that is aimed towards establishing a unified infrastructure for electronic networks. He added that the success of this initiative is another addition to the Ministry's achievements in supporting the government's shift towards smart governance, which is part of the wise leadership's vision. The Ministry's continuing show of support for this shift ensures its delivery of all administrative services in accordance with standards of quality, efficiency and transparency.

The successful connection between the Ministry and FEDnet will result in a smoother exchange of data between all government agencies, thereby contributing to the further effectiveness of the electronic services provided by the Ministry of Environment and Water to other entities.

H.E. Al Shamsi expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) and the Ministry's Information Technology Department for their effective contribution in achieving this electronic project with high accuracy and quality.
