Bahrain’s Ministry of Works, in coordination with the Information & eGovernment Authority, has launched its new internal tenders eService.

The eService is to be added to the other eServices available on the ministry’s portal www.works.gov.bh and the national portal Bahrain.bh.

The new service allows the companies to search and view internal tenders and get the documents for any new tender or buy copies of them. The service also allows them to receive copy of the documents obtained previously, said information technology director at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning Hisham Sater.

Through the new service, companies are able to electronically follow up the new tenders on a daily basis, offer bids for the new tenders or learn further details about them. Also, the results of opening such tenders can be viewed on the site every Monday, therefore sparing companies the trouble of visiting the ministry in person, a statement said.

The internal tenders at the ministry are the tenders whose approximate cost varies between BD3,000 and BD25,000. No charge is calculated when offering bids for tenders that do not exceed BD10,000, while an amount of BD15 is charged when offering bids for tenders exceeding BD10,000 but not exceeding BD25,000, it said.

To ensure utmost benefit of the service, companies can view a short movie prepared by the ministry illustrating how to use the service. The movie is available on all social media accounts for the ministry (Instagram and YouTube Bahrain_works) and also igabahrain.

The Ministry has 10 other eServices besides the new service.
