The Electronic Government Authority (EGA) announced its strategic partnership with the Information and Telecommunication Conference (MEET ICT2013) organized under the auspices of Transportation Minister Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed in the period 10-12 December organized at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre (BIEC). The conference sheds light on the Kingdom of Bahrain as a key player in the region in building IT and telecommunications capabilities, through hosting several international experts in the field who enrich with their expertise and skills the conference audience.

E-Government CEO, Mohammed Ali Al-Qaed said: We in the Authority believe in the significance of leadership role played by IT and telecommunications technologies in the current knowledge-based economic transformation in the Kingdom. We are keen on engaging all the partners in boosting technologies and capacity building as one of the success factors towards accomplishing the E-Government Strategy2013.

he Chairman of the Bahrain Association of IT Companies, Obaidli Al-Obaidli, expressed his pride in the E-Government's joining as a strategic partner and said: The partnership we see today is not confined in its objective to the conference successfulness alone but also aspires towards higher goals by placing the Kingdom on the regional and world map of IT and telecommunications technologies.

Also, WorkSmart Company CEO, Ahmed Al-Hujairi, expressed his company's pride in organizing the event for the fourth year successively as the MEET ICT conference attracts large international audiences and advanced workshops will be organized by IT specialist experts. The conference will be accompanied with the three-day IT and Telecommunications Show which will be an opportunity for IT firms to showcase their activities and services in the field and get in touch with various local, regional and international partners and experts.

The MEET ICT is an annual event which attracts decision-makers and discusses Arab strategies for IT and telecommunications for the purpose of sustainable development in the Arab world. The conference is expected to attract more than 350 participants from inside the Kingdom and abroad.
