Indore, number one in cleanliness, is constantly innovating in the field of green energy. While the Municipal Corporation is preparing to set up a solar power plant in Jalud by issuing green bonds, it is also planning to build 160 e-vehicle charging stations for electric vehicles in the city in the next one year. The corporation will prepare 47 solar energy based charging stations through AICTSL. Electricity will be generated by installing solar panels on their roofs.

AICTSL has entrusted the work to New Delhi’s Jiva International Pvt Ltd on Public Private Partnership basis. The company will prepare 10 fast and 37 slow and moderate charging stations. Solar energy will generate electricity from these stations in summer and winter. Excess power will be given to the power distribution company and power will be taken from the company during the rainy season.

Corporation will get 75 lakh rupees in a year

The corporation will earn Rs 75 lakh annually from the solar energy based e-vehicle charging station. Apart from BRTS, Vijay Nagar, panels will be installed on some footpaths. The company will be able to earn from advertisements in the 400 square feet area of the charging station. The company has been entrusted with the operations for 12 years. It will take one year to prepare 47 charging stations.

Dawa Bazar, Naulakha Bus Stand, Crystal IT Park, Gangwal Bus Stand, Bijalpur, Kesarbagh Road and four other places.

Slow charging station here

Total 37 places including MY Hospital, TB Hospital, Bhanwarkuan area, BRTS, Vijay Nagar, Teen Imli Bridge, Bicholi Mardana Bypass, Dmart Reti Mandi, Naulakha Bus Stand, Rajiv Gandhi Depot, Dewas Naka, Bombay Hospital.

113 charging stations will be built in a year

Electric charging stations have been installed by Reel Company at My Mangeshkar and Palika Plaza Phase 2. Civil and electrical work of charging station is going on at four-five places. Hundred chargers have arrived. 37 charging stations will be ready in a year. The company will give eight percent of the charging earnings to AICTSL. Road Grid India Company will build charging stations at 76 places with Rs 14 crore from the Government of India. At present, a model station is being prepared at Vijay Nagar intersection for Rs 35 lakh.

Three charging stations for corporation vehicles

EESL Company has built charging stations for municipal electric vehicles at Smart City Office, Nehru Park, Municipal Headquarters and AICTSL premises.

Be ready in a year

AICTSL CEO Manoj Pathak said that charging stations for electric vehicles are being prepared through city bus management. Solar powered charging stations will be built at 47 places in the city. These charging stations will be ready in the next one year.
