The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) was responsible for promoting international cooperation in emerging and frontier areas of information technology and communications (ICT) in the context of bilateral regional cooperation.

MeitY has entered into MoUs/Agreements with partner organizations/agencies in several countries to promote close cooperation and exchange of information in the field of ICT.

To strengthen cooperation with various countries, especially because of new initiatives were taken by the government of India such as "Digital India", "Make in India", etc., there is a greater need to explore business opportunities in the technology sector. interest.

MeitY negotiated a broad memorandum of understanding for specific cooperation in ICT areas, such as e-government, human resources development for IT education, information security, manufacturing electronics, embedded computer systems, telemedicine, etc.
