A two-day Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) workshop on e-governance initiatives by the State and Central Governments to meet the various challenges facing the Agriculture sector concluded here Wednesday.

The programme organized by Directorate of Agriculture Kashmir through Farmers Training and Extension Center (FTCE) Ganderbal, was inaugurated by Director Agriculture Kashmir Showkat Ahmed Beigh, who is nodal officer for RKVY, in presence of ISRO scientist Dr. K. V. Krishna Rao, JD Agriculture Extension Kashmir and other senior officers of the Department.

On the occasion, the Director Agriculture urged participants to get fully acquainted with interface of latest e-modes of collecting and submitting relevant information so that they can upload the updated data of RKVY scheme in their respective sectors.

During the workshop, participants from Kashmir and Jammu divisions were made familiar with latest practices in Agriculture and allied sectors to get accessibility of all RKVY assets across the state and also its condition on real time bases.

It was said that with the help of geo-tagging, greater transparency in RKVY programmes and location of non-movable assets can be made easily possible, besides it can also be helpful for planning of new RKVY assets in future.
