Secretary to Government of Nagaland, Horticulture, Alan Gonmei launched the online registration of farmers under National e- Governance plan for Agriculture (NeGDA) on December 2 at Kisama, an official bulletin informed.

“Through this programme, the farmers will now able to access the backing of the experts and scientists,” remarked Gonmei during the launch.

Through this all farmers will be benefited by means of SMS where one can ask any query about the schemes or programmes under Horticulture Department.

He also mentioned that both department officials and farmers were equally important for the success of the programme. Therefore, he urged all concerned to put concerted efforts for the successful registration of farmers through online.

Director of Horticulture, Pawan Kumar in his keynote address said NeGPA was for bringing farmers centricity and service orientation and enhancing farmers reach and impact of extension service to the farmers. Also for improving access of farmers to information and services throughout crop cycle, he mentioned that effective management of schemes and enhancing and integrating the existing ICT initiative of center and State.

During the programme, secretary to Higher Education, HRD, GOI, Vinay Sheel Oberio, IAS also visited the Hortiscape.

Deputy director and Nodal Officer NeGPA, Qhutovi Wotsa chaired the inaugural programme and consultant NeGPA, Alongla Aier demonstrated how to register through online system. Large number of farmers turned up and registered their names during the programme.
