Urban Development & Poverty Alleviation (UD &PA) Department takes organised steps to become the first e-office in Mizoram.

Minister of Dept. Zodintluanga called a meeting in this connection at his office today. Where he informed the meeting of how UD&PA Department prepares to become the first e-office in Mizoram and added, ” We plan to transform into e-office by November”.

All necessary follow-up works would be cleared in three months and by early November UD&PA Secretariat and Directorate office are planed to be transformed into an e-office, Zodintlunga added.

He also said that the department is trying to be a trendsetter for Mizoram in the same regard, adding his hope that if started well it would create convenience for other government departments to turn into e-offices.

The meeting attended by UD&PA, Information & Communication Technology (ICT) Department and National Informatics Centre (NIC) decided to take all necessary steps in the fastest manner and also hold monthly review meetings.

While the department would try to clear all that is to be done on its part within one month, follow-up work at the central government is kept in the hands of NIC.

E-office when set up, would help in speeding up processing of files using computer and would also enhance confidentiality, among other conveniences it would create.

Using State Data Centre (SDC), each of the table at Directorate office and Secretariat office would also be linked. Under National e-governance Plan, e-offices has been used in many of the central government office and also some of the state government offices.
